CHINA JONES
BACKGROUND
China Jones, was born June 20 in Columbus, Ohio. He was raised by his mother and moved around the country from the east to the west coast and back, yet considers Washington D.C. & Maryland home. Attending fifteen different schools by the time he graduated high school, he was exposed to many different cultures and lifestyles, which added to his knowledge and experiences that he pours into each story he writes.
EXPERIENCE
China has been writing screenplays since 1995, and has made the natural progression into directing. He graduated from New York Film Academy in 2009 and in more recent years has been editing and producing his own films.
Working with established actors, musicians and producers such as Gbenga Annkinagbe from The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 and The Wire, Grammy winning Jazz singer Gregory Porter, and Rap artist Pharoahe Monch, as well as Comedian Hadiyah Robinson from the Comedy Store and the Grind Web Series has given him solid experience in the film industry.
A consummate writer, he's completed multiple feature screenplays, television pilots, short films, stream pilots, as well as two novels. Ranging from hardline Science Fiction, Futuristic Fantasy and Animation to gritty Crime Dramas, Thrillers and Informative Entertainment shows, he has put together a collection of strong, well crafted screenplays and stories waiting to be the next big show. With unending creativity and a passion for writing China Jones is carving out a path of success in the film industry that is taking shape with each new step he takes.
CURRENTLY
After completing his second short film Unpaid Debts he is currently in production on his next short film titled The Devils Due. He has completed a new feature screenplay titled "What Criminals Do" and is actively seeking funding. Along with his independent work, he is Head Writer and Producing partner with Story Quest Studio on a collaborative feature film "Red Sand". He intends to help create an intriguing, character-driven storyline that engulfs the audience.
